Congratulations to Mrs. Frew and JAM
Mrs. Frew, an Avonworth Primary Center teacher, and JAMbethekindkid Inc. received the 2023 PSEA Human and Civil Rights Award for Community Leader - Organization. JAM was nominated for spreading kindness throughout Allegheny County.
JAMbethekindkind Inc. is a nonprofit organization started by Mrs. Frew and two Avonworth Primary Center students. The goal of JAM is to spread kindness in the world through a simple message -- #bethekindkid.
Today the organization is run by Avonworth Primary Center and students in grades K-6 who work to spread kindness through making. Members create and sell items, such as #bethekindkid shirts. 100% of the proceeds are given to charity.

The PSEA Human and Civil Rights Award is given to honor individuals and organizations who have made outstanding contributions to help advance civil liberties, equality, and who have been leaders making impacts within our schools and communities on human and civil rights.
