Dear Avonworth School Community,

If exposed to someone positive for COVID-19:
If an individual develops symptoms at any time, they should stay home from school and not return until symptom-free for 24 hours. This means a fever, sore throats, coughs, fatigue, muscle aches, etc. has fully resolved.
The following information is how 5 days is calculated for isolation or quarantine.
5 Day Isolation if COVID Positive:
5 Day Quarantine if Identified as a Close Contact:
- Day Zero is the day you exposed to the person who is COVID positive.
Day 0 | Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 | Day 4 | Day 5 | Return Day |
To assist you with determining if your student may need to isolate or quarantine, the Allegheny County Health Department has created an app that is helpful for this purpose. Below is a link to the app.
