Families must submit a new application every year, even if your child was eligible last year. If your child was eligible for free and reduced meals in the 2024-24 school year, their eligibility will carry over for the first 30 days of school. You have until Oct 4, 2024 to submit a new application.
If your child was not eligible for free/reduced meals during the 2023-24 school year, you must submit an application before the first day of school or your child will be charged the total price for meals and you will be responsible for these charges. Free & reduced applications are available for submission during the entire school year to account for any changes to your economic status.
There is an exception for families that received a Notice of Direct Certification letter for free meals. If your family received this letter, you do not have to complete the application. However, you do still have to let the school know if any children in your household are not listed on the Notice of Direct Certification letter that you received.
