2026-2027 Proposed Final General Fund Budget

The proposed general fund budget has revenues of $43,022,751 and expenditures of $43,687,840 using the district reserve fund to balance the budget with a planned use of $665,089. The budget includes a tax increase of .77 mills raising the real estate tax rate to 23.05 mills for the 2026-2027 school year.

Included in the budget is an increase in personnel costs due to contractual increases, a 8.3% increase in medical insurance premiums, upgrades to Lenzner field including new turf and LED lights, Viewsonic Panel Boards, Conversion Van and a salt storage bin. Total expenditures increased $730,142 or 1.70% from 2025-2026.

The increases in the revenue budget of $1,415,892, or 3.40%, include current real estate taxes, earned income tax, delinquent tax and investment income. Total certified assed values for 2026-2027 decreased by .67%, resulting in a loss of real estate taxes of $187,000. The increase of .77 mills in the tax rate equates to $177.56 or $14.80 per month for a median valued home. The average millage rate for Allegheny County School Districts for the 2025-2026 fiscal year is 25.33 with Avonworth being the 13th lowest at 22.28.
