Honoring Corporal Chris Simcoviak & Welcoming Officer Laura Andreakos
Friday, March 14, marked the final day of service for our longtime School Resource Officer (SRO), Corporal Chris Simcoviak. For the past 17 years, Corporal Simcoviak has been a dedicated presence in the Avonworth School District, ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community. His commitment to our schools has made a lasting impact, and we cannot thank him enough for his years of service.
To show their appreciation, students, staff, and families gave Corporal Simcoviak a warm send-off last Friday by honking, waving, and sharing words of gratitude as he directed traffic on campus one last time. His presence will be greatly missed, but we wish him all the best in his well-earned retirement.
As we say goodbye to Corporal Simcoviak, we are also excited to welcome our new SRO, Officer Laura Andreakos. Officer Andreakos is an officer with the Ohio Township Police Department and will officially begin her role at Avonworth today. We look forward to working with her and continuing our strong partnership with local law enforcement.
We encourage our school community to give Officer Andreakos a warm Avonworth welcome! If you see her directing traffic on campus, please honk, wave, or take a moment to introduce yourself.
Lastly, we extend our gratitude to Ohio Township and Chief Hanny for their continued support and partnership with the Avonworth School District. Their commitment to the safety of our students and staff is deeply appreciated.
Thank you, Corporal Simcoviak, for your years of service, and welcome, Officer Andreakos—we are excited to have you as part of the Avonworth family.
