Avonworth Welcomes New Athletic Director Nathan Milsom

Avonworth School District is proud to welcome Mr. Nathan Milsom as its new Athletic Director.

Mr. Milsom brings a wealth of experience in athletic leadership, program management, and student-athlete development. He most recently served as Director of Athletics at Carlynton School District, where he oversaw more than 30 varsity and middle school athletic programs. In that role, he managed game operations, transportation, and compliance with WPIAL and PIAA regulations, while also building strong relationships with community organizations and supporting student-athletes both academically and athletically.

A Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA), Mr. Milsom has also been actively involved in leadership roles across Western Pennsylvania athletics. He has served on the WPIAL Board of Directors and multiple sport steering committees, while also holding leadership positions within several athletic conferences, including serving as president of the Southwest Conference and the Three Rivers/Century Football Conference. Mr. Milsom has held multiple leadership roles within the MAC Conference, serving as secretary, vice president, and, currently, president. His work has helped shape athletic programming and opportunities for student-athletes throughout the region.

In addition to his administrative experience, Mr. Milsom has an extensive coaching background, including serving as a head coach for track and field, girls' tennis, and football. His commitment to student growth, teamwork, and excellence extends both on and off the field.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve a community that already means so much to me,” said Mr. Milsom. “Being both a resident and now the Athletic Director makes this role especially meaningful, and I’m excited to support our student-athletes, coaches, and families as we continue building something we can all be proud of. More importantly, I want to help ensure that when our students leave Avonworth, they leave not only as successful athletes, but as great people who are prepared to make a positive impact wherever life takes them.”

Mr. Milsom earned his bachelor’s degree in business education from Robert Morris University, where he also played football and baseball. He later earned his master’s degree in sport management from California University of Pennsylvania.
