ASD Rapid Alert Test Notification

Avonworth Update

Dear Avonworth Parents/Caregivers,

We hope you’ve had the chance to log into Alma to update your contact information. Parent/caregiver contact information must be up-to-date in Alma to ensure you receive emergency communications from the school district through our rapid response system, School Messenger. As in the past, the district will send email and phone messages for emergency notifications, including weather-related delays/ cancellations and late bus updates, using School Messenger. We will also be adding the ability to receive an SMS (text) message. More information will be sent once this feature is available.

Before the school year begins, we will test our rapid response system. A test message will be sent via School Messenger on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 1:00 PM. As a reminder, it takes the system time to call phone numbers in Alma. Therefore, although we will send the message at 1:00 PM, you may receive the phone message after 1:00 PM.

  • If you receive the message at the correct phone number and email, no further action is required.

  • If you do not receive the message and wish to have your phone number and email included in district rapid calls, please log into your Alma account and ensure your contact information is correct. Below you’ll find a link to our guide for updating contact information in Alama as well as the links for each building.

  • Please contact your child’s school office with any issues or questions.
