Second Grade Welcomes Guest Speaker Tylar Melfi

Second graders had a unique and enriching experience as part of APC's Wit and Wisdom Module 2: The American West. They were honored to have Tylar Melfi, a descendant of the Deer Clan and Erie/Seneca/Kiowa tribes, visit their class. Tylar shared his knowledge of Native American culture, traditions, and history, giving students a deeper understanding of the rich heritage of these tribes.
The students had the opportunity to engage with real animal furs and also participated in a hands-on activity by learning a traditional dance, which was both fun and educational.
This experience was an important step in helping our students connect with and appreciate the diverse cultures that have shaped our history. A big thank you to Tylar for sharing his time and knowledge with us!
