Avonworth Primary Center Welcomes More Than 50 Veterans for Annual Veterans Day Celebration

The halls of Avonworth Primary Center were filled with patriotism and gratitude as students and staff welcomed more than 50 Veterans for the school’s annual Veterans Day Celebration. In the days leading up to the event, students learned about the significance of Veterans Day and discussed the many ways Veterans have served and protected our country.

The morning began with a special breakfast for attending Veterans, many of whom were invited by students who wished to honor a family member, friend, or neighbor who has served. Students who did not have a guest in attendance created stars for the school’s Wall of Honor, ensuring that every Veteran connected to the Avonworth community was recognized.

Following breakfast, the celebration continued with a school-wide parade led by the Avonworth Drumline. Students lined the hallways to cheer, wave flags, and offer heartfelt appreciation as the Veterans made their way through the building. The parade concluded in the gymnasium, where students performed patriotic songs and recited poetry to honor the service and sacrifice of each guest.

A highlight of the event came when a representative from the Veterans Leadership Program announced that the Primary Center had officially met its goal for the annual Stuff the Stage collection. Students and families donated an impressive number of non-perishable food items, toiletries, and household essentials to support local Veterans in need.

The celebration was a meaningful reminder of the bravery and dedication of America’s Veterans. Avonworth Primary Center extends its deepest gratitude to all who have served and to the families who continue to support them. The morning’s events offered students a hands-on opportunity to learn, reflect, and express appreciation—making this Veterans Day one to remember.
