Five Avonworth sophomores — Isla Hawes, Karthik Pillai, Ayushi Saxena, Norah Schenk, and Nora Wible — were selected to participate in the High School Student Spotlight at The Global Impact Forum (TGIF), part of Explore: Pittsburgh Tech Week, presented by Google & Citizens and powered by Duolingo.

The event took place on November 4th at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, where students from across the region shared projects focused on innovation, technology, and global solutions.

The Avonworth team’s project, titled “AI in Agriculture and Farming Solutions,” explored ways artificial intelligence can support farmers in developing sustainable and efficient farming practices to promote more prosperous harvests.

This opportunity allowed the students to deepen their understanding of STEM and AI, connect with industry leaders, and showcase their creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills on a regional stage.
