Honors Wind Ensemble Selected for Prestigious National Band Association Invitational

The Avonworth High School Honors Wind Ensemble was one of just three schools selected to participate in the 2026 National Band Association High School Concert Band Invitational and Festival, held January 19 at Duquesne University.
As part of this prestigious event, students experienced a full day on a college campus, working closely with distinguished wind band conductors Dr. James Gourlay, Dr. LaToya Webb, and Jason Fettig. Students also received instruction from Duquesne faculty and members of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
The day included a side-by-side rehearsal and performance with the River City Brass Band, followed by a featured performance by the ensemble to conclude the festival.
This invitation reflects the exceptional musicianship and dedication of Avonworth’s student musicians, and we are proud of how they represented our school community at this national-level event.
