Avonworth Musicians Selected for Allegheny Valley Honors Band Festivals

graphic showing Allegheny Valley Honors Band

After a long and highly competitive evening of in-person Allegheny Valley (AV) auditions, several Avonworth students have earned selection to participate in the AV Junior High and AV Senior High Honors Band Festivals. These prestigious festivals bring together outstanding student musicians from school districts across the region, including North Allegheny, North Hills, Hampton, Shaler, Northgate, Pine-Richland, Riverview, Fox Chapel, and Avonworth.

This year’s results were especially noteworthy for Avonworth. The district earned the second-highest number of student selections for the Junior High Honors Band, an impressive accomplishment when compared to the size of other AV member districts. The achievement highlights both the talent of Avonworth’s student musicians and the continued growth and strength of the district’s music program.

“In my opinion, this accomplishment is a testament to the caliber of our students and the continued growth of the program. Their dedication to their craft, perseverance, and musical maturity is a true joy to be a part of. We are grateful for their hard work and proud of the personal and musical excellence they consistently demonstrate,” said Mr. Ronnie Ziccardi, Avonworth’s K–12 Music Department Leader.

Avonworth is proud to celebrate these students and their commitment to musical excellence, and we look forward to seeing them represent the district at the upcoming AV Honors Band Festivals.
