Alumni & History
On July 1, 1938 the former school districts of Ben Avon, Ben Avon Heights, Emsworth, and Kilbuck Township joined to form the Avonworth Union School District, it was the first Union School District in Pennsylvania. In 1955, Ohio Township closed their small schoolhouses and joined Avonworth. By 1967, the Pennsylvania Department of Education formally approved the formation of the Avonworth School District and a new high school became reality in 1970 on 43 acres of the Crawford farm.
