Dear Avonworth Parents & Caregivers,
As we begin to approach the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) and Keystone Exams administration windows, we want to update you on the standardized testing
for the Spring 2021 assessments.
At this time, the United States Department of Education and the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) require the administration of the Spring 2021 standardized tests. PDE has acknowledged that schools will face logistical challenges given the different school models schools are operating in across the state and the challenge of testing large groups of students while following health and safety measures. Therefore, PDE has permitted increased flexibility for the administration of the Spring 2021 assessments. Each building and grade span has developed a plan to accommodate both our in-person students and our virtual students that will maintain the integrity of all health and safety plans in place.
PDE requires that all students be on campus at the time of testing. Building administrators will be sending a communication to their respective families, both in-person and virtual, with additional details regarding the Spring 2021 PSSA and Keystone Exams.
Please remember students should not bring any electronic devices (e.g., cell phones, smartphones, smartwatches, etc.) other than an approved calculator, if applicable. We encourage parents and students to review the exam code of conduct and calculator policy. Please view Keystone & PSSA frequently asked questions.
We appreciate you reviewing this important information!
