Spring Musical 2023 Information - Grand Hotel: The Musical

The Avonworth High School Drama Department is proud to present their production of Grand Hotel: The Musical.

Come spend a night or two in the world's most luxurious and mysterious hotel. Esteemed bookwriter, Luther Davis (Kismet, Timbuktu!), collaborated again with the prolific, distinguished composer-lyricist team of Robert Wright and George Forrest (Kismet, Timbuktu!, Magdalena) to create Grand Hotel, a seamless musical that won multiple Tony and Drama Desk Awards. With additional music and lyrics by the great Maury Yeston, Tommy Tune's 1989 production of Grand Hotel featured early work from Jane Krakowsi and a legendary performance by Michael Jeter as Otto Kringelein

It is 1928. The world is between wars, the stock market is booming, Berlin is the center of high life and optimism rules the day. However, underneath it all, much is happening with the Grand Hotel's illustrious clients. Inspired by Vicki Baum's period novel, issues of life and death, financial ruin, love and murder converge as people and come and go through the lobby of the Grand Hotel.

Performance dates are March 24, 25, 31, and April 1, 2023 at 7:30 pm.  Tickets will be on sale to the public beginning 02/24/2023 and can be purchased online at ahstickets.booktix.com.  Tickets are $12 each.

The March 31 performance will be ASL interpreted.  For reserved ASL seating, please contact [email protected]

Fall Play 2022 Information

The Avonworth High School Drama Department is proud to present their production of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

This dramatization of C.S. Lewis' classic work faithfully recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-be-forgotten Narnia. All the memorable episodes from the story are represented in this exciting dramatization: the temptation of Edmund by the witch, the slaying of the evil wolf by Peter, the witnessing of Aslan's resurrection by Susan and Lucy, the crowing of the four new rulers of Narnia, and more. The supporting characters are also here: the unicorn, the centaur and other forest animals, along with Father Christmas, Mr. and Mrs. Beaver and Tumnus the Faun. This story of love, faith, courage and giving, with its triumph of good over evil, is a true celebration of life.

Performance dates are November 16, 17, 18, and 19 at 7:30 pm and November 19 and 20 at 2:00 pm.  Tickets are on sale to the public beginning 10/26/2022 and can be purchased online at ahstickets.booktix.com.  Tickets are $9 each.
