Avonworth School District Closed

Per Governor Wolf's directive, the Avonworth School District will be closed for the remainder fo the 2019-2020 academic school year.  This includes all playgrounds, athletic fields, football stadium, track, and all school grounds.  All athletics, school-related events, and use of school district facilities are cancelled.  We will provide updates to our school community as decisions are made regarding this closure.  Updates, announcements, information, and resources related to COVID-19 and our District's response can be found here:  http://www.avonworth.k12.pa.us/Coronavirus.aspx

Alumni & History

graduation On July 1, 1938 the former school districts of Ben Avon, Ben Avon Heights, Emsworth, and Kilbuck Township joined to form the Avonworth Union School District, it was the first Union School District in Pennsylvania. In 1955, Ohio Township closed their small schoolhouses and joined Avonworth. By 1967, the Pennsylvania Department of Education formally approved the formation of the Avonworth School District and a new high school became reality in 1970 on 43 acres of the Crawford farm.
